Young Belgian Strings is a string orchestra made up of young talents, graduates or students from all the Conservatories and High Schools of Music in Belgium, French and Dutch.

A project carried out with the support of the Prince Philippe Fund.

Through Her regular presence at concerts, Her Majesty the Queen supports young talent and encourages young people's interest in classical music. Since January 1, 2020, Her Majesty the Queen has granted us Her Permanent High Patronage.

Giving our students the opportunity to meet, exchange experiences, perfect their learning, perform on the most prestigious international stages and prepare for a future career in the world's great orchestras, these are our objectives.

Young Belgian Strings is open to students and laureates from all the Royal Conservatories and Music Schools of Belgium with an age limit of 30 years. A market study confirms that there is a real demand from young musicians for such projects.

The work within the orchestra complements their musical training in our national institutions and allows these musicians to acquire all the technical knowledge and practice of the trade of Orchestra musician. Young Belgian Strings organizes several working sessions per year and concerts in Belgium and abroad.

The YBS benefits from the support of an internationally renowned patron of the arts in the person of Lorenzo Gatto, Second Laureat of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition of Belgium.

We wish to demonstrate that music is a universal language without linguistic barriers and to prove that our educational music institutions are of very high quality, abounding with young talents.

We wish to unite under the colours of Belgium the future leaders of our cultural landscape!
We need you and your support to give them the means to fulfil their ambitions!
We are convinced that helping high-level educational projects is a priority.
Every contribution helps to build the future of youth.
